MTMZA Hosted Iftar To Foreign & Local Visitors

Tuesday, 28th March 2023.
Masjid Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin was delighted to host iftar for both local and foreign guests. The 73 visitors, who were mainly from France and Spain, were welcomed by the mosque tour guides. The event started with a brief tour of the mosque, then guests lined up for meals, had a briefing on Ramadan and finally they broke their fast.
They were exposed to the practise of eating dates to break their fast and eating with their hands, which were a new experience to them. They also delighted in tasting the various Malaysian cuisines that were served to them.
This event not only highlighted the magnificent architecture and uniqueness of MTMZA but also helped to introduce tourists to the beauty of Islam. They were amazed to witness strangers in the mosque sharing food and quietly assembling to the main hall for the congregation prayer in an orderly manner. They saw Muslims are generous, warm and friendly, helpful and courteous individuals. They were aware that Muslims are not how the media in the West portrays them to be.
